Kailer finally got the chance to cruise around with his Daddy on his "Motorcycle Bike" (As Kailer calls it)! He was so excited - of course, safety 1st - gotta wear that helmet! :)

Buddy!
This past Wednesday while visiting with my friend I found out that there was going to be a "Dinosaur Train Day" (A PBS production) at the Museum of the Rockies. So I figured, what the heck, lets give a try after Kailer's nap on Saturday. I had contacted a friend to see if she wanted to meet us there with her two boys as well. We had agreed, but unfortunately her youngest went down late for a nap and slept too late for them to join us. So I bucked up, grabbed my camera and we headed to the museum....only to be greeted by a young boy at the turn-off telling me that the parking lot was full and they were directing people to the university for parking. "But," he says, "it looks like some people are leaving, so go ahead, drive slow and see if you can find a spot." SCORE...we found a spot! As we're walking up to the door, I see that there's a line to just get in the door. It was insane the turn-out that they had for this event. There were kids, parents, strollers, and entry stickers everywhere! Once inside, I sort of followed the crowd, not really knowing where the "main event" was held, but knowing that I didn't want to lose my spot in line. We're finally told that the wait to meet the dinosaur will be approximately 35 minutes. My first thought, "that's ridiculous, I think we'll just leave." Then I decide that we'll stay, why not? What else do we have to do for the next 35 minutes? So we wait ... and wait ... and wait! I begin to have visions of Kailer having a break-down, needing a drink or wanting something to eat, as my arms become numb from holding him. Much to my surprise he did exceptionally well, Thank God, because I'm there by myself and know that getting out of the line means we lose our spot. Finally, 40 minutes later we're finally in the room where we will get to meet Buddy....but 15 minutes after entering they announce that Buddy needs a break that will take approximately 5 (Ha, we knew better!) minutes. Kailer watches Buddy leave and asks, "Where'd Dinosaur go?" I tell him that, "Buddy had to go the bathroom." OOPS, MY BAD...because now Kailer think HE needs to go to the bathroom. Oh dear, please Kailer don't go down that road right now. I finally got his mind on something else and Buddy finally showed back up! Of course, being a typical toddler, Kailer is initially very excited to meet Buddy and I'm giving him a pep talk before it's his turn to meet him. I'm telling him to go up and shake his hand, give him a huge, etc. I thought that 'maybe' I'd be able to get a picture of Kailer with Buddy ... but of course I knew better! He didn't want anything to do with Buddy without me right next to him. Thankfully a nice man behind us offered to take the picture -- phew, I didn't completely waste 70+ minutes of my day!

Oh Dear Lord!
Kailer absolutely LOVES to drive anything that has a steering wheel that he can get his hands on! He's even gotten in the habit, when we unbuckle him from is carseat of crawling into the front seat and "driving." Needless to say, if you leave the keys in the ignition, he also knows how to turn the car battery on - just to the point of being able to turn on/off lights, blinkers, windshield wipers, etc. So I've learned in a hurry - keys OUT of the ignition and a door open in case he decides to lock himself in or me out! We have called Kailer a Monkey for the longest time and if you listen to his ornery little laugh this video you might agree that we DO have a monkey on our hands.
Anyone have some extra windshield fluid??? ;)

Birthday Celebration...
Last weekend we went to a 4th Birthday Party for Kailer's daycare friend, Quinn. I've known for quite some time that Quinn was pretty protective of Kailer and took good care of him, but this day provided me a bird's eye view of the friendship that they have together. It was really cute to watch them and Kailer had so much fun at the party - though I know he was itching to help Quinn open his presents. Lego themed party - the cake was made by Quinn's mom.

"Not Yet"
Last week when Kailer as miserably sick I would ask him, "Should we clean your nose?" (a.k.a. use the little baby-booger getter {bulb} - my not so technical term for it.) In which he would respond, "No, Not Yet." So now that he's feeling better and enjoying life a bit more and I asked him again, during bathtime ... same response, but at least there's a smile on his face this time.

"Button" nose
While playing on the floor - and searching for a toy he pushed under the couch - Kailer found a felt pad that belongs on the foot of the couch to help keep it from sliding on the hardwood floors. So, I had the idea of sticking it on his nose ..... "Does this haircut make my nose look big?"
This is Kailer's new "1000 Yard Stare." It's the funniest thing, he'll just give you this look out of nowhere; though in this case I'm pretty sure he wasn't as amused by his nose as Dan and I were.
