Snorkeling At Tenacatita

To add a little change to our scenery, on Friday (1/22), we loaded up in the car and headed to Tenacatita for a snorkeling adventure. This beautiful white sandy beach is approximately 1 1/2 hours north of Manzanillo. Dan and his parents had been here before, but this was a new adventure for Kailer and me. Dan and I did a little snorkeling while we were there and the rest of the time was spent enjoying the calmer waters, sunshine, pina coladas and shrimp tacos!!

We snorkeled out by the rocks - such a beautiful beach and a picturesque day!

"Dad, Jaws doesn't live out here, right?!"

We could definitely get used to this "beach bum" life we've been leading.

Two cute beach bums!

Other Things May Change Us, But We Start And End With Family

Eternity Begins and Ends With the Ocean's Tides

Our memories of the ocean will linger on, long after our footprints in the sand are gone.

Okay, Kailer, here comes a big one!

Squishy sand between our toes!

He was intrigued by the ocean.

What the heck?! I swear my daddy said this was a nude beach?? :)

First mouthful of sand!

Aaah, serenity!

Pool Time!

Our first full day in Manzanillo resulted in some R&R by the pool and in the ocean. Kailer wasn't exactly fond of the pool on day 1, probably because it was somewhat cold, but by day 2 he seemed to enjoy it a little more. I'm hoping he will continue to love water, as I'm planning to enroll him in swim lessons soon.

"Well, Hello Ladies!"

Splish-splash!!

Okay, time to get out, Kailer had enough.

Bienvenidos a Mexico!

Well we're home and sadly enough, we came back to cold temperatures and snow! Dang-it, I knew I should have just stayed in Mexico! :)

All in all we had a nice time and we couldn't have asked for better weather. Kailer cut his second tooth while we were down there and as I've found out from trips to WY he doesn't like to be away from his own bed, so that made for some long, sleepless nights, but he seems to be doing better again.
Thankfully the pressure from flying didn't seem to phase Kailer and 6 different plane rides were finally completed at 9 p.m. last night! Needless to say the three of us were more than ready to get out of the plane, and airports, and be in our own beds!!

Waiting in Denver for the next leg of our trip.

Monday, January 18, 2009: Papa Martin's Birthday

The best way to start off your morning is a dip in the hot tub ....

...and the Mexicans thought we were crazy, they thought the weather was too cold. Ha, not when you're from Montana!!

Momma and Kailer during the birthday brunch!

I am planning to post a few pictures each day until I have exhausted our trip to Mexico. We had a great time and owe Papa Martin and Grandma DJ a big "Thanks"!! We miss them so much already.

All Our Bags Are Packed ...

....We're Ready to Go!
And because our bags are packed, so is our camera. So that means no more 'new' picturees until we get back from Mexico. In truth, it also means I probably wont be on here again until we get back. I just have a list a mile long to get done before we leave and with Dan working now I only have a few hours in the evenings to be able to "do" anything constructive since he's not sleeping.
Thanks everyone for following our blog and we'll be back online with you sometime after the 26th.

Adios!

Teething time!

It all started on Tuesday January 5, 2010 when my Mom and Dad discovered that I was "cutting" my first tooth. Since then, it seems that everyday they want to look in my mouth to see if there's any more progress on the little bugger pushing its way up! I'm doing my best in the meantime, to chew on everything in sight and make a massive soggy mess out of every piece of clothing available to me! This teething stuff isn't a whole lot of fun, but I am doing pretty good and Mom relieves some of the pain with Baby Orajel, cool (literally and figuratively speaking!) teething rings and a little Tylenol every now and again. She has also started to brush my tooth and gums with this yummy "mixed fruit" toothpaste - not too shabby if I don't say so myself!! I sure will be glad when my teeth are finally in though, then I can try more "big boy" foods!

"Okay mom and dad, let me explain this AGAIN (sheesh!) - it's on the bottom left, right underneath my tongue here .. see it!?!"

Aaah, a nice cool teething ring!

Are We There Yet?

Just another day of hanging out with Mom - she keeps me busy!!

OMG .... LOL

"Dear Dad: I am sending you a txt w/out mom knowing! Have a gr8 day n b safe @ work. TTYL"

In reality, these pictures represent something my son will be doing LONG before I ever even knew what texting was ... times are changing.

I actually had put the phone in front of him as an "incentive" to crawl/move toward it. He succeeded, so I had to let him play with it for a few minutes! I have to be careful though. One day I gave him my phone, he of course put it immediately in his mouth and needless to say filled the receiver end with baby slobber .... I had to let it dry out before I was able to hear what anyone on the other end was saying!!

Scrub-A-Dub-Dub

The best smell in the world is a clean baby!!

Kailer LOVES bathtime and I'm hoping to get him enrolled in swim lessons, while he's young and before the "fear" of water has a chance to develop.
