Maybe It Will Disappear!?!

We go through stages with Kailer where he'll eat really well and then he wont eat much of anything. So, on occasion, I "try" to be sneaky and mix in some veggies with food that I know Kailer will eat. He really likes Mac 'n Cheese ... on most days ... but on this day I had mixed in some vegetables, which did not make him happy at all! So his new thing is that he'll close his eyes in an attempt, which we believe, to will away the food that he doesn't want to eat! He also does this after he's told us "all done," and we proceed to tell him that he needs to have "x" number of bites before he's done. In truth, it's really quite comical to watch.
Oooh, the joys of having a toddler! I think people have it all wrong when they say you should leave the hospital with an owner's manual for a baby, it's really about 18 months later when you really need that (toddler) manual.
Still there?!? ..... YEP!!

Happy Feet

Since well before Christmas, Kailer has been into doing his "Happy Feet" dance (If you haven't seen the movie/cartoon, you really should watch it). It is the cutest thing to watch and hopefully will bring a smile to your face. Usually while he's dancing he'll say, "Happy Feet, Happy Feet," repeatedly. I am also convinced that when he falls to the ground and starts lifting his leg in the air he's mimicking exercise moves that he sees me make. Soon to follow ... the somersault video (which is what we were, obviously, trying to get him to do during this one).

Have We Hit The TWO'S!?!?

For the past 3-4 days Mr. Kailer has been overly ornery and into EVERYTHING!! I wouldn't say he's being naughty, just extremely mischievous. Which, one can imagine, also makes it that much more difficult to keep him quiet when Dan is sleeping. So, on this particular day I sat him on the counter while I was making dinner salads. He was doing pretty well, snacking on bits of vegetables that I'd give him and then he found my phone and well ... decided to get comfortable and text a few friends apparently.
So, if indeed the TWO'S have arrived (4 months early), I'm hopeful that they'll also leave 4 months early. Ha!!

Discussions At Dinner

Kailer and Dan discussing important matters from the day. Seems to me that Kailer is being very philosophical with his Dad!

Where Have We Been?

A question that I think many are probably asking themselves regarding my absence from blogging. After a week in Wyoming, we arrived home safely on January 2nd - with one little boy who was so very pleased to see his Daddy!!
Since that time we've been running around like crazy with our remodel/finish project in the basement. I knew it was going to be a lot of work and even though I'm not doing much of the "labor" portion (that's been Dan, bless his soul), I'm still the one running here and there ("Ooops, we forgot to get the paint." "Oh, while you're in town could you run to Lowe's and get ..."); it's been never ending. So by the end of the day when the paint fumes have thoroughly clouded my brain and my ears are ringing thanks to the hum-drum of the power tools all day, I'm beat and honestly haven't had the energy to get on the computer. Thankfully we're coming to the end and I'm hoping that life will get back to"normal" within the next couple of weeks.
So, that's what has been going on here ....Kailer helping with the painting - he's enjoyed being downstairs because he's gotten to wear his beloved snow boots!!

Daddy in his hazmat suit, ready to start spraying paint.

Pretty sure that Kailer was less scared of Santa!!

Kailer enjoying some time with Great Grandpa Fred .... and a cookie, which he didn't share! :)
