Last night was Kailer's 3rd Birthday party celebration. Not knowing when #2 will decide to make an appearance, we decided it might be best to celebrate Kailer's party sooner, rather than later. For months he's been talking about his birthday and how he wanted a Spiderman (or really, anything to do with a Superhero) themed party ... so his wish was my command! With my bulging belly and limited energy levels I pulled together a party for him and his friends. This year we opted out of serving a meal, like we've done in the past, and decided to just do dessert (a.k.a. Sugar!!)! The kids had a great time, Kailer got a whole smorgasbord of presents and was up and rearing to play with his new toys at 5:22 a.m. - I'm thinking he was still on a sugar rush!
His favorite toy is his talking Woody doll with his talking Buzz Lightyear probably being a close second. He's been asking for one for quite some time and his little dream came true last night. Needless to say, that doll got a work-out today by Kailer. If you've seen the movie Toy Story and have seen how much Andy loves Woody, then you will appreciate the same love that Kailer has for him as well.
We feel so very fortunate to have such great people in our life, who helped to make Kailer's celebration a genuine success! They're like family and we're forever grateful to know each of them and their children.

Just in case anyone needs to catch a bad guy! |

The Cake
(Spiderman now resides on Kailer's bedroom window with suction cups). |

One can never have too many super powers!! |
|
Gluten free brownies (for a few of our dietary-restricted guests) and cake batter truffles! |
|
Oh the gifts.... |
|
Daddy's little spotter! |
AND....as if I haven't seen enough sweets in the past two weeks (Ugh, I think I could get sick thinking about all of it - early b-day celebration over Mother's Day, shower cake for me at the hospital, making the truffles and brownies.....), I spent a good portion of today making cake pops for Kailer's birthday celebration at school tomorrow. I have a lot of respect for those people who bake day in and day out - by the end of today the slightest scent of sugar made me nauseous!
Sounds like you have been one busy mommy! It looks like the party was a success. Even though it is a lot of work, it is always worth it to see the joy on their faces!
ReplyDeleteWoW Shey, you are awesome. What a lucky little guy. Loved the theme and all the details. I can't believe he is three!
